Yannis S. Kalantzakis

Mr Yannis Kalantzakis (B. Sc. in Biology) joined Samaritan in January 2009 to oversee European operations, including Samaritan Ireland Pharmaceuticals, Limited. Mr. Kalantzakis succeeds Dr. Christos Dakas. Prior to joining Samaritan, Mr. Kalantzakis had a successful career in various executive positions in Germany and Greece with Abbott Diagnostics in Greece, Armour Pharmaceuticals, Brahms Diagnostika GmbH and Fresenius Kabi AG in Germany before he had started the operations of Fresenius Kabi Hellas S.A. in Greece as Managing Director. Mr. Kalantzakis was then chosen from the Minister of Health to manage and direct the Health Care Region of Crete including 9 public hospitals, 14 health care centers, 9 welfare institutions and 121 GP offices .Mr. Kalantzakis has an overall experience on health care settlements in Europe and during his career, he launched worldwide successfully, a new diagnostic sepsis marker, procalcitonin. He established two small companies for home care nursing services and consulting services for health care management. A health care executive with a number of published papers, political interviews and scientific congress' presentations.
