Transforming Today's Science Into Tomorrow's Cures
Samaritan's collaborative researchers have made important patented discoveries in the fields of, central nervous system diseases, such as, Alzheimer's disease; cancer; cardiovascular disease; and infectious diseases, such as, AIDS, and Hepatitis C. These discoveries have positioned us with a rich pipeline of new drugs with novel mechanisms of actions to develop.
Samaritan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is an entrepreneurial biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and marketing of innovative therapeutics. At Samaritan Pharmaceuticals our mission has been to create life-saving drugs for people suffering from AIDS, Alzheimer’s, heart disease and cancer. View all the latest press releases and news articles focused on Samaritan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. These publications, called peer-reviewed journals, are scholarly periodicals requiring each article submitted be judged by an independent panel of experts (scientific peers) to authenticate the accuracy of the material. The number of articles printed and the variety of publications accepting the article serve to underscore the legitimacy of information. Samaritan has collaborative relationships with other pharmaceutical companies to commercialize branded approved prescription products in selected niche territories, such as, in Greece, Albania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, FYROM, Hungary, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovania, Syria and Turkey. Before a drug can be offered to the public it must go through several phases of rigorous testing to make sure it is safe, efficient and does what it says it can do. BREAST CANCER PREDICTIVE DIAGNOSTIC
Samaritan has series of preclinical studies to develop a simple blood test which can detect down to one cancer cell in two miillion cells for early detection of fast growing cancer cells.

Our diagnostic blood test would potentially measure whether a breast cancer tumor is aggressive in nature as well as the likelihood of a cancerous tumor to metastasize and spread cancer throughout the body. The test offers a faster prognosis of a breast cancer biopsy (1- 7 days compared to the traditional 3-weeks).

To date, an invasive biopsy is the only way to determine if a potential trouble spot is cancerous or benign. A non invasive blood test could be the first, preferred, diagnostic tool; to predict whether a breast tumor is cancerous, possibly being able to detect one single aggressive cancer cell, out of millions of blood cells. Also, it could be used as a measuring tool to monitor the success of chemotherapy, radiation and other drug treatments for aggressive cancer. Another benefit of Samaritan's breast cancer diagnostic -- avoiding the costs and negative effects of unnecessary chemotherapy.

The science of this predictive medicine diagnostic is in the detection of high levels of the protein peripheral-type benzodiazepine receptor (PBR) to determine tumor aggressiveness, which has been demonstrated with in vitro.

  • The risk of cancer increases with age - about 76% of all cancers are diagnosed at age 55 and older.
  • Since 1990, breast cancer incidence rates have increased predominantly in women age 50 and older. Source: "Older Americans, 2005 Survey"
